I'm so freaking thrilled.......The heart auction at the Hal Marcus Gallery was just too cool!!! My hearts were such a hit. Things were done a little different this year and I believe it made the whole situation must better. Focus was put on the hearts and the auction itself instead of all the who's who in that crowd and all the artsy fartsy's...... It was wonderful that Charlie was off ! and Lisa and Joe came too......it was a really special day for me...... They all three made me feel like a princess.
Avance ended up making over $40,000.00 just on the hearts, and there were many donations from local businesses that brought in another 5 or 6,000.00 I am most pleased to say mine brought in almost $600.00. Yippeeee "Heart of the Jungle" went for $375.00 and "Unearthed" went for $190.00 pretty good for an "unknown" heeheehee so here's some pics since the one's on the website suck.......oh, and they had them lit soooo nice at the gallery. The black was just beautiful and shiney.....I'm just so happy.........AND they even re-cleaned the mirror for me! they looked perfect. I guess part of the reason it's such a big deal to me is I really didn't like either one of them very much. I really dis-liked the jungle one........i didn't even turn that one in until a week before the show cause I didn't want it photographed and put in the local paper......maybe I should have.........oh well, to be honest I don't like most of my work, I ALWAYS feel I could have done something different, or something better........
